Mars Mission - Flitter

Here's a Mars Mission themed space fighter, The Flitter.

The ship features retractable landing gear, and an opening canopy.

My bricks are still packed up so I'm making do with LDD.

I'd love to build this one with real bricks, but I've created some parts that don't exist.
(i.e. the 2m Technic beams on the guns don't come in orange)

Please let me know what you think.

Being a bit of a fan of Mars Mission, I really appreciate this MOC. It looks like a very swooshable ship. And the bionicle feet usage is quite interesting.

That particular configuration of the Bionicle feet has been invented, independently, at least twice before:
:space: Travis Kunce's Blizzard, announced on Lugnet in December 2003.
:space: My own Sunfish, announced on Lugnet in June 2004 (though I started it in 2002, and put it aside).

Hmmm, I was completley unaware of these MOCs, though not really suprising, seeing as I wasn't even a lurker at that point in time.

Yeah it's nothing new, but I do like the look.
And using 4 makes for a good looking engine/power source for the guns.

I liked the Mars Mission sets quite a bit too. They were the only real space sets available when I came out of my Dark age.

I had a similiar story, only that I was born too late to get any of the good stuff. I only had once space set (A Spyrius/castle combo pack, actually) for many a a long year, until I discovered Bricklink. Mars Mission, being the first spacey stuff I experianced brand new, was something I was very excited about at the time.

This is pretty wicked looking and love the Barnicle feet. People should use Technic pins for guns like this more often, instead of just leaving them mostly exposed.
