MX-41 Scorpion Fighter

I have had this fighter kicking around for 6 or so months now, and finally decided to take some pictures (It was actually at Brickcon 2010, so you might have seen it)

I built this from a bit of the frame work from the minifig Star Destroyer, and has progressively gotten to the point that it is at now (An early version can be seen Here)

What do all those fiddly technic bits do?

It looks really smooth from the back, but the bent nose doesn't really fit well in the front. I think I understand what you were trying to do - match the angle of the cockpit - but it leaves too big a gap and the stacked angled plates makes a weird texture.

For the most part, nothing. They are mostly there as a bit of practice into greebling, and/or to help keep the whole thing together.

Not so fond of the nose? Hmm, that was one of my favorite parts. I actually matched the cockpit to the nose, cause the framework I used had the angle as part of it.

lol not to argue, but I actually like the nose.

I agree about the slant-tile textures though. It would look cleaner, I think, if the stud-gaps all lined-up more precisely.
