M-Wing Viper

The folks over at FBTB are holding another star-fighter contest, this one to create an Alphabet Fighter. Thought I'd post my entry here as well.

M-Wing Viper

Here's the style...

What a machine, like the design, but, huge plastic pieces with a predetermined design shape. The combination of them is good and it creates a ship that does not look like Lego . Therefore, a big thumb up.

I love ever part of this, but especially the cockpit and the astronomic droid compartment. TWO Thumbs Up.

Grats on being blogged on TBB!
Great ship. I like the droid body as flight controls. Can a figure actually hold the grips?

Thanks everyone for the comments and compliments. I've actually updated the engines underneath based on a fair critique, and swapped out the photo above.

I like the droid body as flight controls. Can a figure actually hold the grips?

Yes, but just barely by the edges of the hands... It all depends on the angle of the minifig body, and the position of the arms (since the hands get closer together as they swing up).

I tried it once before in this table-scrap MOC. Same thing where the one hand grabs it by its edge.

Thanks Sir Michael, and to everyone that voted as well. The prize-pack is fairly generous for this one (partly due to it ending after FBTB's "Bothcon 2011", and them having a "goody bag" left over):

1st place: Bothcon goody bag consisting of the following:
- Reusable LEGO Star Wars vinyl tote bag
- M-wing Kit
- Bothcon minifigure
- 30054 MINI AT-ST
- 30050 MINI Republic Attack Shuttle
- 2005 Star Wars Days LEGOLAND CA Duplo Brick
- 8084 Snowtrooper Battlepack
- 30051 MINI X-wing
- 3219 MINI TIE Fighter
- 8028 MINI TIE Fighter

1st place will also get:
- 6212 X-wing Fighter
- From Bricks To Bothans t-shirt

Needless to say, it definitely off-sets the bricklink order I placed to help build it.

Man, do I want one of those m-wing kits.

FBTB was extremely generous!

I like the way You used the bionicle/technic parts. It's quite detailed MOC. Nice engines and the "substance".

I'm not the greatest SW fan, but MOC is quite climatic.
