Thanks guys. I'm aiming for Brickfair VA next year, but I'm not sure if I can finish it by then. I'm building the whole thing to baseplate dimensions (4 x 6) so that it can be easily integrated into a LUG display at some point.

how did you do the edge on the curved monorail track

Thanks guys! Legosammy, the curved edge is built out of 2 x 2 tiles stacked on a long change of hinge plates, with a piece of flex tubing running along the inside edge for stability.

Since I'm here, here's an update after an unusually Lego-filled weekend:
