Help w/ landing gear

Hello everyone!
As you probably noticed I'm new here, and I would like to
receive some help on how to design landing gear for a small
transport I'm building. I'm thinking of struts somehow
attached to the hull, supporting pads that hold the ship
slightly above the ground/floor. I am open to reworking
the design slightly to accommodate more radical ideas,
so feel free to suggest almost anything.

Along with ideas for landing gear I'm open to suggestions on how
to improve this in general. Just ignore the figure in the cockpit and
the pieces that are currently supporting it as both are simply placeholders.

Well, I can't view flickr at work, but for landing gear:

Try combining technic curved tiles w/pin holes (they're rounded, but otherwise look like 1x4 plates with pin holes in the ends) with those fire-hose handles/water pump handles. lol I'm not sure how else to describe them: the T clip pieces!

Anyway, try to combine small links with larger supports. IE: unless you have a ton of space I wouldn't recommend using snap-hinge bricks, because they don't have a very wide range of motion.
