I don't know what's going on with the admins. Has anyone tried PM'ing them? Maybe they could make some of the more active people admins?
I've been reporting all the spam posts.

Spammers need to be smacked, and we have no one to do it, cause the few admins and mods are all busy in real life, most likely. If or when one comes back, the should either STAY here to keep an eye on stuff, or make a member or two mods.

I have a fair amount of experience running forums, and I would be happy to help out in any way I can. I'm not looking to take over--I understand why the original admins would want to stay in control. However, if they need someone to manage the forum temporarily, I could handle it.

This new classic-space site could sure use ANY admins attention... with the spammer accounts popping up now, and the lack of apparent admin interest, the end seems near for this one too.

Woah now, not true! Even if no one else cares, Blake and I will work to fix it!

It would help if some of the folks that have moved to Flickr would come back and/or at least chip-in a bit to help get it back up to spec.

As I'm sure you also noticed, I wrote that comment back on Jan 3rd, and this thread was started in November. It was a very true statement then, and Classic Space V2.0 was near the brink (especially with the forums getting over-run with bogus accounts and porn spam). We had a lot of people eager to fix it, as you can see from the other comments, but our hands were tied. Fortunately, Blake was finally given mod access a few weeks later, cleaned house, and has worked his magic. Now that the place had been made habitable, we can work on establishing it again as a more active community.
