ME-23 Big Red Courier

Imitation is a sincere form of flattery, well if anything this MOC certainly is. Inspired by Blake Foster's XS-SP33D, this interpretation is a courier vessel designed for high maneuverability rushing through the busy urban skycar lanes as well as for quick travel throughout the local system. This MOC has working landing gear and an opening cargo hold.
This build took about 2 weeks to design and build, and as is often the case the landing gear posed the greatest challenge. I was going for both functionality and realism -- both of which are often a trade off.

Nice! This looks extremely swooshable!I think the landing gear are fantastic. They look very 'solid', able to support the ship. Do they just swivel down on a technic pin? Is there something that keeps the ship from collapsing the landing gear into their retracted position?

I also like the connections between the engine pods and the main body. The engines seem so large that they might shake the ship apart - I imagine that the technic connections are an aftermarket part meant to stabilize the craft. Reminds me of Shepherd Book, on seeing Serenity: "Not an aught-three, though; didn't have the extenders, tended to shake."

nice work! I love what you've done with your inspiration. The landing gear is great too. I know you called a reinterpretation, but I definitely think it has its own presence, Overall I could see this being another product from the same company (a more marketable product)
