Here's my entry for the last Colour it Blacktron contest:

The original MOC

As you can see they are essentially the same, but there are minor differences between the 2.

Does it have to be an exact facsimile of a set/moc?
or can I add stuff?

It doesn't have to be exact, but it has to be reasonably cloes enough that it can be recognized as whatever you are basing it on.

Yes, I very much agree with that statement. Everything looks better in Blacktron.

Well I got some time to work on my entry. It was a toss up as to what I wanted to make. It felt too easy to just take one of my recent LDD models and recolor it. So I took an older MOC (from March of '08) and rebuilt it in LDD as my bricks are packed up for my move next month.

So here it is:

This is the Blacktron Variant of the Civilian Aero-Spacecraft 4 (CASC-4)
Blacktron bought several of these craft from various ship dealers and refitted them with weapons and better shields. They also upgraded the control package to sqeeze every last ounce of performance the airframe could muster. This resulted in a redesign of the cockpit area.

Okay, I've calmed down now. Here's my (now losing) entry:
