Alpha Centauri

Anyone remember this?.

No?

Good....

Okay, if you are following my blog, you will have probably seen this already, but I thought I'd better post this here, seeing as I feel this is one of my best large spacehsips to date.

As with many things I have built, this is simply a remake of an older ship. My second Blacktron ship, to be precise, which in turn was based on that ship in 6988 Alpha Centauri Outpost. I am quite happy with this, though the interior still has a few things that I need to work on. This was also my first attempt at making hulls less 'square' I think I succeeded pretty well.

From what I see (without the folder being active yet), this looks very good.

And PS, I love that you still use Brickshelf.

Thanks for the replies!

legosammy: I am not sure what light grey you are talking about. I am quite sure I didn't use any light grey on this ship.

Nice work with the curvature--it's subtle, but it adds a lot of realism. I also like the way you used the trans neaon green quarter saucers.

Some suggestions for the future:
- Try brick-building the wings sideways, so that they're studless.
- I bet it would look really cool if you used flex hose or other bar-like pieces to build a frame over the front windscreen, so that it looks like it's constructed from multiple panes (sort of like this piece, only not painted-on).

Thanks for the suggestions. I really would have likes to make the wings more studless, but I didn't have enough bricks and good slopes (or tiles, even) to make the wings more studless. As for making the windscreen look as if it is panes, that isn't a look I am really fond of, so I doubt I will do that.
