Wanted: Your opinion - the definite list of Lego Space flags

All things space. Also things not space.

Wanted: Your opinion - the definite list of Lego Space flags

Postby legomr » Tue Jun 26, 2012 12:25 pm

For a MOC incorporating all flagships of Lego Space (not including Star Wars), I'm trying to figure out which Lego Space spaceships can actually be considered "flagships". Of course, I have an idea of my own, but I am certainly biased, so I'd like to put the question to my fellow CSFers:

Which five Lego Space spaceships must be included in a definite list of flagships of Lego Space?

Sets from Star Wars are not eligible. Other than that, any theme is allowed.

Okay, be prepared for a slightly long post, for I am going to do the flagship of each space theme, and then narrow it down from there.

(In no particular order:)

Blacktron II: 6954 Renegade
Blacktron II: 6988 Alpha Centauri Outpost (The ship, wich I like to call the Alpha Centauri.)
Classic Space: 497 Galaxy Exlplorer
Classic Space: 6929 Starfleet Voyager
Classic Space: 6980 Galaxy Commander
Classic Space: 6985 Cosmic Fleet Voyager
Exploriens: 6982 Explorien Starship
Futuron: 6932 Stardefender 200
Ice Planet: 6973 Deep Freeze Defender
Insectoids: 6969 Celestial stinger
M-tron: 6956 Stellar Reacon Voyager
Mars Mission (Human): 7644 MX-81 Hypersonic Operations Craft
Mars Mission (Human): 7690 MB-01 Eagle Command Base (The ship, which I shall call the MX-51 Eagle)
Mars Mission (Aliens): 7691 ETX Alien Mothership
Space Police Intelligence (1): 6986 Mission Commander
Space Police Armed Forces (2): 6957 Galactic Mediator
Space Police Home Security Force (3): 5974 Galactic Enforcer
Space Police Criminials: 5984 Lunar Limo
Spyrius: 6939 Saucer Centurion
UFO Blue: 6975 Alien Avenger
UFO Red: 6979 Interstellar Starfighter
UFO Alien Conquest: 7065 Alien Mothership
Unitron: 1789 Star Hawk II

I have omited Roboforce, for the simply have only one tiny ship.
Okay, now, for the top 5 (Again, in no particular order)

Deep Freeze Defender
Galaxy Explorer
Galactic Mediator
Alien Mothership
Explorien Starship

And 5 runner ups, just cause I feel it was that close

Stellar Reacon Voyager
Cosmic Fleet Voyager
MX-81 Hypersonic Operations Craft
Mission Commander
Interstellar Starfighter.

TLC shall rue the day that they didn't make any decent sized Blacktron ships........

I would disagree on the Futuron. I would think the Monorail would be the flagship set, as it was the first space-monorail. I personally believe that the Monorail was what defined Futuron.

For flagset, sure the Monorail would win, but this thread is about the flagship of each theme, and since the Monorail has no ship, it is disqualified.
