Hey folks. I decided to get back into building on the sub-minifig scale and I built a few new ships. Rather than post separately I'm doing one post. Here are the ships I designed in microscale:

Blacktron Destroyer:

Exploriens Starship:

Unknown bad guy assault ship:

Space Skulls Battlecruiser:

These ships are on a slightly larger mini scale so I'm listing them together:

Blacktron Mini Fighter:

Mini Star Shuttle:

Mini Space Tanker:

Enjoy!

Unknown bad gay assault ship:

I think you meant bad GUY.
Nice ships I like the 2 blackton ships the best, but they all have good color scheme and building techniques.

Seconded on the Blacktron, you perfectly captured their classic aesthetic, and I love the way you included the symbols. The mini fighter is a bite-sized bit of perfection.

That mini fighter is great. Great part usage with the nose section. Very creative. The mini shuttle has a BSG feel to it. Great work on all of them.

Best,

What a smorgasbord of action. Obviously they are all excellent, but the mini-fighter and the mini-star shuttle are perfect. Oh, and the Exploriens starship too.

Welcome back and I forgot how much I hate you. Spectacular work. Where's some justice to take out that Skull crap?

Ha ha! Thanks. Well, the Exploriens ship was SUPPOSED to be Star Justice but I don't have the logo stickers. So I tried to make it CS for a bit but I couldn't incorporate the CS logo with the pieces I have. And I didn't want to fake it with Photoshop. But if you look at the design of the "Exploriens" ship you'll see where I was going with it.

I thought the "Unknown Bad Guy Ship" was asymmetrical, which made me randy, but then I saw it was, in fact, symmetrical, and that made me a sad panda... symmetry... sigh.

Good to see you building again, the Blacktron and Space Skulls cruiser are my favorites out of the batch. Everything else is still very good, but I find the shadows from cast by the models to be distracting. Indirect lighting would really help, natural lighting from a brght day is the best imo.

All great ships, expecially Skull, Exploriens and tanker ones, but the first, in my very very humble opinion, doesn't have the "microscale" feel, it lacks details a little (but with the blacktron color scheme it's really difficult to greeb the thing...!). Anyway, excellent work!!

I think you're referring to the Blacktron destroyer? Yes, I think part of the problem is the color scheme. Black doesn't photograph well so any lines and details get lost. Also I used many larger pieces and that tends to kill the microscale illusion. In retrospect I think giving this ship a conning tower like the other two would help remedy the problem. Thanks for your feedback.
