Dake SB-32 Floor Drill Press, 220V, 3 Phase, 1-1/4" Drill Capacity, 23-5/8" Length x 15-3/4" Width x 71" Height

The Dake SB-32 floor drill press is variable speed and has a larger drill capacity, more power, and a larger work diameter than the Dake SB-25 floor drill press. It has a 1-1/4″ drill capacity, a 2 hp motor, and an 18″ work diameter. A quick-release tension belt allows for fast speed changes. The drill press has a locking handle hub with an adjustment dial and scale for accurate depth settings. It includes a machined table with T-slots and a cast head and base. It also has several safety features including a push-button on/off switch, emergency stop button, thermal overload, and belt cover safety switch. The spindle has a large diameter with four bearing points for smooth operation. The handle has three spokes with a spring return for precise control.

Drill presses are used to create holes in workpieces, and they accept a wider range of cutter types and sizes than handheld drills. They have a spindle with a chuck that accepts a range of cutters such as twist drill bits, annular cutters, and threading taps. Drill capacity is determined by the size of the cutter accepted by the drill press. Magnetic drill presses are used to drill holes in steel where it is necessary to move the drill to the workpiece, such as ship and bridge building. They are portable and have a magnetic base that secures the drill to the steel workpiece, allowing the drill to be mounted vertically or horizontally on the workpiece. Cutting capacity is determined by the size of the cutter accepted by the magnetic drill press. Magnetic adhesion signifies the amount of force it takes to lift the drill off 1″ thick steel when the magnet is activated.

Dake Machine Tools manufactures arbor presses, hydraulic presses, drill presses, power hammers, band and cold saws, belt grinders, tube benders, and auto feed systems. The company, founded in 1887, is headquartered in Grand Haven, MI.
