I used these on my patio to create soft lighting. Got Home Depot buckets, sand, marble rocks, and poles ($34 total), spray painted the buckets and poles black, and then strung these lights up. They look amazing. I used 3 strands (75 feet) on 8 foot poles and the amount of light coming off of them is just right – light enough that you could eat dinner or read a book, but not so bright that it feels like 75 little spotlights.

I purchased these plus a 100 foot strand for my patio to replace some cheap knock offs that were really christmas lights with plastic bulbs that snapped over them. SPEND THE MONEY AND BUY THESE because the cheap fake ones fill with water and mold and break. I had my fingers crossed after reading that some people had broken bulbs upon opening package and that they were really fragile but none were broken, they all worked, and they don’t seem any more fragile than any other light bulb. We hung the string and when we got it just right we placed the bulbs and they look great! The 100 foot strand doesn’t have a female end to add another strand but the 25 ft. does. The recommendation said not to connect more than 136 bulbs. In summary, GREAT BUY & GREAT PRICE!!!

I bought 3 sets of these lights to cover our patio (about 25 feet square). Everything arrived promptly, with a few spare bulbs thrown in. We love the light these give off, although I am thinking of buying an external dimmer. The bulbs are larger than I was expecting, but look fantastic.

These went up to light up an outdoor deck for a wedding party. They did the job very well, giving enough light to be comfortable, but not so much as to be blinding. They are more like large Christmas Tree lights, but they need a longer lead before you get to the first bulb. Also the bulbs are VERY fragile, but we survived because there was an extra bulb sent with each string (we had 4 strings and broke two bulbs). For the price not bad.
