(6 Pack) Greenlighting Low Profile LED Solar Post Cap Lights for 4 x 4 Wood Posts (Copper)

I have seven (7) of these lights installed on posts for the front walk-up teak/composite deck front entrance to the house. They give off a medium bright light. If the light is installed to close to an outside light it will not turn on. There is a caution in the instructions to dismount the light if temperature falls below zero degrees for an extended period. I left them on last winter in Colorado, Elevation 6500 ft, with Temps in teens and below zero for prolong periods. No problems with them working. I would advise using SS screws or galvanized ones as the black ones “rust”. Also be advised to dry install with the top on as depending on the angle of you stair hand rail and height of the support post, the light cover may not clear the hand rail. Metal lights are the way to go…

Lastly, the reason I gave 4-stars is for the rusty screws (had to sand and repaint light, get ss screws, re-install) and the battery life. I had to replace two batteries after only 4 months of service.

These lights look great and low profile, we love them, not too bright and just bright enough. Only disappointment is the lens is plastic not glass and for that I think they’re a bit pricey.

OK, I bought the 8 pack. I was extremely hesitant when making my purchase. There were several mixed reviews on all products I can find similar to this, and the price is all over the place. This were a bit more than I was hoping to spend. I needed 8, one for each post on my new deck. I just paid for a new deck, so I paid the money for these. I wanted a sleek look and low light emission. There is only a small window on these which is fine. I didn’t need them to illuminate my yard, just provide a glow outside and when letting kids or dog out, we don’t go immediately into black when turning the light on at the door. This is much more pleasant and I am extremely happy to this point. That said, I am still holding my breath that they don’t take on water, I had read some reviews where that has happened on this type units. I’m almost 60 days out and all is great so far!

I bought these to cap some of the posts of my vinyl fence and add a little more lighting in certain areas. I didnt measure correctly and so these caps didnt fit over the posts like i wanted them to. However, they fit IN the posts and slid in perfectly. It covers a little bit of the light area but shows enough light to add a very nice look to the posts in the evening. The photos are of the caps in the post before and after.

I just received this product but was alarmed to see the maintenance note of “during the winter or cold months (below 32 degrees F), it is best to remove them and store them until extreme weather has dissipated.” We live in Ohio where 32 degrees is not considered extreme. It is likely each day for 4-6 months of the year. This limitation is not mentioned in the product description. It is hardly an outdoor product if it can only be used half of the year. I cannot imagine removing them in the winter as it would make the posts unsightly. I guess we will find out if they survive the Ohio winters or not in a few more months.

The light from these is not very bright, but they are visible in the dark from a distance. We use them to mark a gate in a wooden fence. They fit well and are well made. Just be aware the light is more ornamental than practical.

These are very attractive lights. While very pleased with the appearance, my old lights that I’m replacing actually put out more light. I’ve only had them in place for about 48 hours so the batteries may still be charging up. The lights are installed on either side of a gate to the back yard but at this point they are more decorative than functional.

We installed these at our second home. Installation was easy, but when we returned 6 weeks later, the solar lights don’t work. I would like to contact the company, but can’t figure out how.
