Apex Worktable Stainless Steel Food Prep With 4 Caster Wheels Work Table

MAJOR QUALITY ISSUES. Ordered this to be a prep area for my tiny kitchen. Price was right & free 2-day shipping.

Unit 1 arrived on time. Many tears & dings in the cardboard box. Opened it up, found that one of the six threaded bolts which hold the leg-sockets to the underside of the tabletop had snapped off in shipping. Also, both the table-top and the shelf piece had major dents in them. Some number of the steel set-screws which hold the legs to the table-top and the shelf to the legs were missing from the package.

Ok. I received a bad unit. No biggie. Tape the box back up, click on the ‘return’ button on my Amazon order. I have the luxury of being able to work-from-home on days where I need to stay home all day to meet the UPS guy, others may not…

Replacement unit arrives two days later (actually ahead of Amazon’s guaranteed delivery date). This one also has (minor) dents in the table-top, and on this one THREE of the twelve steel bolts which attach the table-top to the leg-sockets have snapped off. Also, the weld-points where they attach the bolts to the underside of the table are visible as dents from the top of the table. This one is missing one of the sixteen steel set-screws which hold the legs to the table-top and the shelf to the legs.

I definitely should return the second one as well, but it’s a heavy steel table and a pain to disassemble / pack for shipping might just live with it. Either way I go, I’ll never be ordering anything from Apex again.

Design problem: steel bolts that hold the leg-sockets to the underside of the table-top are welded / brazed to the bottom surface of the steel table-top. This is a poor design, the bolts snap right off, and even the ones that hold leave visible imperfections on the top surface of the table.

Packaging / handling problem: I received two different units and on both of them, the table-top has gotten dented out of shape either in the warehouse or in shipping.

No instruction sheet included. I’m still figuring out how to mount the casters (it’s non-trivial). I’m sure I’ll figure it out, but an instruction sheet would be nice.

I ordered size 24″X12″X35″. I want to clarify that because the other sizes may not have this issue but the size I bought was I believe the smallest size there was. Well, once assembled the table is so small a narrow that it will not stand up properly. The legs were not located on the ends of the table as the picture shows so the table literally wobbled like a newborn giraffe. DO NOT BUY THIS SIZE! You will be disappointed. I will say the quality of the metal and all was good. All parts seemed sturdy, it was just the legs being to far in from the corners it would not stand up.

It arrived with dings/dents and scratches and didn’t look like new table. The bolts for securing the legs in place were loose in the box (not in a bag) One side of the table was slightly bent. The allen key was taped to the table and the bag that it should have the key and the bolts in was ripped. Not sure if there were supposed to be any instructions about assembling the table but there were none.

False advertising! NOT true “austenitic” stainless steel, top is brushed Ferris metal, the rest is junky galvanized metal. Magnet sticks to it all, true stainless is not magnetic which was the whole point of buying a “stainless steel” table.

It arrived with a set screw broken off on the underside of the table top, and at least 16 dents on the top. There was a scratch which went all the way through the steel as well. It’s a beautiful table if they’d ship it protected! Mine also didn’t have the plastic table leg pieces to use it without wheels. With wheels, it’s too tall for a kitchen work surface. It’s 3″ taller than regular counter top height. Hard to chop or work on when you’re not a tall person – plus it looks odd.

the actual product is not as advertised in the description or picture. the bottom shelf is only 4″ wide and the legs only 4″ apart.

I love these work tops, they are totally worth it. Unfortunately mine came dented and the wheels were not in the package making it a little shorter then what is advertised… I have ordered two other larger work tables like this from other companies, and they came perfect and undamaged. The dimensions are exactly what I needed for a small space. I don’t feel like taking it apart to send it back, the dent is super annoying though. Lucky Amazon is amazing and helped me get the wheels ordered. I would probably not order from this company again just because of how the product came damaged, and missing parts.

Nothing like the table picture this company is showing. I ordered two of the same stainless tables and wheels were different size. The table won’t even stand up by itself. Legs are to close together
