“MEH” The Breville replaced a 1988 Waring juicer. I do have the Omega 8006 masticating juicer. I am doing a 60 day juice reboot. With the masticating unit, it seemed like I was spending all day in front of the juicer. I tried this one to save time- which it does. The second day, the plastic chute broke during use. Customer service sent me the part. at no cost. which arrived in a week.
My beef is; the waste when juicing greens, apples and carrots. Wet chunks are left in the pulp container. This is harsh on the wallet, especially when using organic produce. I took the pulp from the container, put it through my masticating juicer which yielded an additional four cups of juice. The enclosed picture shows how much was originally produced plus the juice masticated from the pulp.

This juicer was a complete bust. While it was fast and easy to use. The waste pulp was way too wet.

I wanted to make sure that it wasn’t a matter of user error, so I tried different sizes and shapes for the fruits and veges I would feed into the chute. I noticed on my first few runs, that inserting smaller pieces would inevitably result in them shooting almost immediately, partially chewed, into the waste bucket. I then start leaving them larger and larger, so they would have direct pressure from the plunger, almost holding them in place against the blade. I would still wind up with pretty large pieces of fruit or vegetable in the basket. I also tried using carrots, celery, apples, cucumbers, beets, cactus fruit, lettuce, kale, cabbage, collard greens, etc. Large portions of my input would just wind up in the waste basket. The pieces that did caught in the blade would consistently end up really wet and in the basket.

The last two times I used the juicer, I squeezed the pulp in a cheesecloth and was able to get a considerable amount of juice out of it. I have included a picture of the last juice output. In an attempt to fill the pitcher, I juiced enough fruits and vegetables to get the pitcher approximately 75 percent full. I then dug into the basket and started squeezing the waste. I was able to squeeze an additional 2 cups of juice out of the pulp. I have included a picture of the juice level in the pitcher and what would have been thrown away had I not gone back for the second squeeze.

I called Breville to see if they had any advice. Their customer service never answered the phone. I placed four phone calls. For two of those calls, I waited on hold for a representative that never answered. For the other two calls, I took the option of getting a call back. I left my phone number and never got a return call.

I had an old centrifugal juicer some years back. I got rid of it because it was too loud and it would shake while it was spinning. It made me feel like it was going to explode or tear my countertop apart.

I soon after bought a masticating juicer. The juice that it produced was great. The pulp was always dry, BUT I hated cutting the pieces up into little bite sized morsels. It felt like such a waste of time.

I moved over to this Breville because I wanted to be able to throw giant pieces into the chute to save time and energy. Truth of the matter is, the time you save not cutting up vegetables, gets spend squeezing out pulp. If you don’t squeeze out your pulp with this thing then you are basically throwing money away every time you make a juice. Juicing is already kindof expensive as it is. To know that you are getting maybe 60 percent usage of your produce is too unnerving for me to deal with.

I went back to my masticating juicer.

I’ve been wanting a juicer for a while but everyone always said it was a beast to clean and so much work involved.
After reading tons of reviews, I finally decided to go with the Breville Cold Fountain and it was well worth the money. So simple to use and clean up is a breeze. Definitely nothing like what I’ve heard abojt juicers.
The trick is to clean the juicer as soon as you’re done juicing and to use the included brush on the mesh filter!

Extremely happy with this machine. This is my third juicer, the first one was a Juiceman Jr. and second was the commercial Champion. I had problems with both of the other juicers, but the Breville out shines them both! I would recommend this to anyone.

Don’t hesitate. Been using it every single day since I got it. It’s just awesome.
One side note, put a plastic bag in the disposal container to cut back on the cleaning time. You’re welcome!

Very good juicer, easy, quick and if you double your recipe it makes enough for the whole day. Clean up is rather time consuming, but that’s just the nature of juicing. Lots of pulp, but I always run mine back through and I get more juice. My husband started making pulp patties and baked them in the oven, taste like fruit leather and gives you something healthy to snack on and chew.

This is my third Breville juicer. I was not 100% happy with the Elite model (a little messy and awkward) and even the Duo (threw giant chunks of produce violently into the pulp bin), but trusted I had the best option available. Periodically, I pondered making a switch from the centrifugal to a masticating juicer — but I knew all that peeling and tedious chopping wouldn’t work for me. I continued to hold out for a new Breville model. I kept coming across this Juice Fountain Cold, but the much lower cost whispered “lower quality” and so I passed it up. Until now. All I can say is “wow.” I’m so impressed! This juicer is amazing! It’s soooo much quieter, lighter weight and efficient than the Elite or Duo. The larger pitcher and angle of the juice output spout alone were worth the change. But the juice, oh! the juice! It’s simply lovely. Deeper, richer, brighter colors and so much…um…juicier taste. Plus, the “hood” fits into the pulp bin like a glove. No splattered bits and pieces whizzing across my kitchen. I wish all the non-motorized parts were dishwasher safe (the hood and pitcher aren’t). But a little washing up is a small price to pay for such an improved juicing experience. I couldn’t be happier.

This juicer wasted spinach,kale, apple, and lemon. It hardly juiced any of this . It just spit out my greens . Waist of money .
