Char-Broil Performance 550 5-Burner Cabinet Liquid Propane Gas Grill

This grill looks great and performs just as well. It did take a while to assemble but the easy to follow instructions made it pain free. I am not an engineer like some always claim when something is hard to build and they have problems. It heats up quick and is a great grill at it’s price point.

Car Broil delivers again with a fantastic grill. Easy to assemble and everything aligns correctly without needing adjustments. Plenty of space for grilling for large events and the side burner is fantastic for boiling water or making eggs/bacon. Only challenge with this unit is the wheels during assembly – the instructions are not very clear in how to lock the wheels so that they can be tightened (there is a tool provided, but the instructions are not clear about it). Looks fantastic and very classy.

We put it together in about 2 hrs. Followed instructions and didn’t have any problems. Looks great! Can’t wait to use it.

The fire is mainly in the front of the grill so your food needs to stay in the front instead of being evenly distributed. You can cook using the whole grill but the most heat/flame is concentrated in the front. IDK?

We have had this grill about a month, and so far we are happy with it. I must admit, like other reviews warn, the instructions are not very clear on some parts. They are mainly just pictures, and the screws come in a god awful cardboard pop out package that I either had to cut open, or pop the screws out and they go flying. But, my boyfriend and I got it put together in about an hour, and we use it almost every day.

We gave this grill as a gift and although I think it will probably work fine, there is a large dent in the lid that was not visible until the pieces grill had been unpacked entirely for assembly. It isn’t a minor dent but short of unpacking each piece when it was delivered, I’m not sure how we would have seen it. Once the pieces were unpacked for assembly, it would have been difficult to pack them all up again for a return. I’m not too happy about this.

The unit went together pretty well. The box it was received in was damaged. Some of the parts were dented. It appears due to the size and wight of the box, shipping is hazardous to the contents. Only other complaint was the sand filled plastic wight to be installed on the base of the grill for stability didn’t have a plug stopping the sand from leaking inside the box. All the parts were there, the installation instructions were pretty straight forward if you have experience putting these types of appliances together. Otherwise best to get a service to do the set up for you.

I will never order a grill I have to assemble again. Front door brace would not line up so I called customer support. When I stated my problem, rep said they knew there were defective ones so they would send me a replacement under warranty. I was like no crap! Then they send to wrong city because of zip code typo. A week later I get the new front brace……..same design and still doesn’t fit!!!!! So now its been over two weeks of a partially assembled pit aggravating me in my shop!!! I’ve had enough and demanded refund.
