Designers Fountain 87003-WI Darby 3 Light Bath Bar (weathered iron – 2 Pack)

Aesthetically everything about this light is lovely. It is a nightmare to mount. The screws were a 1/4 too short when attaching the mounting bracket to the wall-this was discovered AFTER the light was up and wired. UGH. So the light was installed TWICE. After 90 minutes it is up and lovely. The bottom decorative bars at the end of the glass will have to be removed each time to change a burned out bulb. That will be a hassle since they do not come off so easily. I like things that are simple and pretty. This caused me more work than anticipated so I can only give it 4 stars. If I had more patience it would definitely have been 5 stars.

Update- It took 30 minutes to get the the final decorative cross bar rings on. Each light fixture is actually 4 pieces- the inner ring, the seeded glass, the interlocking ring that slides over the glass and the final bottom piece. It is finally assembled but it will be a real hassle to change the light. I may take the bottom piece off since it looks fine without it. The instructions are not helpful since it is just a pictorial of how it all fits together which is obvious anyway. I have to downgrade it to 3 stars-too much money and too much time-both of which we all hate to waste. It does look nice but now I just get a bit annoyed looking at it.

I installed this myself and I’m slightly adept at installing light fixtures having done it only once before via a youtube video. The fixture is heavy and it was a little difficult on my own having to connect the wires with only one hand while propping it up with the other hand. Once you assemble the glassware, the hardware, and the bulbs, it’s rather beautiful. I did notice once it was installed that a little water mark was visible on the plate that will remain due to the finish on it, but I’m hoping it won’t annoy me too much. It has already gotten lots of rave reviews from visitors who step into the little downstairs bathroom, what an immense improvement from the inexpensive one that my house came with originally. I think the price was well worth it!

These are GREAT fixtures that look wonderful in our sorta “Rustic” master bathroom. The Iron Finish is a grey (a little brown, but not what I was expecting based on the photo) and we LOVE them. When we received, package was great – on time, was slightly concerned because I thought I ordered “antique bronze” and this is NOT that finish. LOL – rely on the words and not the photos! But it still looks wonderful in our bathroom and we have the single fixture as well. Work Great, easy, quick install and the only tricky part is putting in the bulbs because the bubble glass and the iron piece at the bottom are not fixed so you have to hold one and turn the other – BUT as soon as you do one, the rest go much quicker!

I would actually love the fixture if it was the color the pictures display. Unfortunately, the picture is very inaccurate of the actual color. It is very gray, almost a blue-green gray color. It is definitely not brown or black or “weathered iron” as described.

Love the light — it was a lot more of an iron color than pictured but once up, it was so beautiful, I think I can go with it! It’s very nice!

I love this light fixture. It’s has a unique finish and I can’t be happier. It was easy to install as well. Took about 15 min.

Made of cheap stamped metal and weathered steel finish was a poor paint job.
