The BBQ arrived in a pretty beat-up condition…like it had been dropped off the back of the truck, so it makes me wonder about the “drop ship” annotation. The box had split open, had been wrapped with packing tape to hold everything in and it arrived after dark so it was difficult to check all the parts for damage. I took everything out of the box the next day and found some parts that were bent, mangled, etc. so I called customer services at Dyna-Glo and told them about it. I don’t know why more parts weren’t rendered unusable, but that was a pleasant surprise. I’m positive it didn’t leave their warehouse in this condition as they would have known it would be coming back to them for replacement. However, I told the customer services rep what parts needed replacement and they immediately ordered replacements to be sent to me for each part…no hassle at all so I have to give them kudos for the way they handled this issue. The assembly went without much of a problem although some of the diagrams need to be looked at more than once to understand the process. I was a bit worried when I did the suggested “test burn” that I’d find a leak in the gas line or other issues, but surprisingly, everything worked as it should, only having to match-light the side burner and burner #1. Everything has lit as expected in the subsequent uses of the BBQ. So far, it’s meeting my expectations and like I noted, their customer service staff is excellent…but the shipping process left something to be desired.

Easy to put together, and is of high quality. I had the same issue as others in regards to the loss of heat coming out of the back of the grill. I went to Home Depot, bought an aluminum push plate and screwed it in the back of the grill. It covers about 2/3 of the opening; enough to safely allow some heat to escape, but not so much that I can’t get this grill up to 700 degrees rather quickly. I’m not an overly handy guy; making this tweak involves 3 solid screws and a power drill… i.e. it’s something anybody could do.

Delivery on this grill was quick. It does need to be put together, and it probably took a solid hour to do so.
The grill is light weight, and unfortunately has yet to generate more than a 450 degree temperature with the top closed (the temp gauge goes up to 800 degrees). The BTU’s per square inch comes out to about 83, 100 BTUs/Sq In is sort of the standard.
Description says surface will hold 24 hamburgers, they’d have to be on the small side to fit in my opinion.
Also the dimensions given are the over all dimensions and include the side shelves that is not the grilling size.

Just received this last Thursday and opted for the Amazon assembly service. So glad I did. A 2 man team arrived and had it put together in just over an hour. WELL worth it!! I’ve only grilled on it once, and had no problem with it getting hot and staying hot. So far, so good. I do wish that I had lined the drip pan with foil, as I can see that getting very dirty, very quickly. I will do that before I grill again.
I do have one problem though – actually 3 problems. Even though the box arrived in great condition and the unit was very well packed – the front right corner of the right side shelf is mangled! -yet the box it was in, inside the box was in perfect shape! – see photos 1 and 2. Also there is a “ding” in the burner cover, and a “ding” right in the center of the cover. Not happy about purchasing a damage product. I am going to try to contact Amazon or the seller regarding the damage.

This is a horrible grill. First, there is a huge 3 inch gap along the top of the cover at the back where all of the heat escapes. (Sadly, I only read other reviewers’ comments after I ordered it.) So, following their advice, I have tried to cover that gap with aluminum foil and heat tape — an ugly fix to say the least. Even with that fix, this grill takes at least 45 minutes to get to 400 degrees — it’s never seen 500 degrees. The burners are far too small and put off only low heat, even with my help of plugging the massive gap at the back of the cover. If you like to sear your meat, you’ll need to do it on the stove. When I show this grill (and the top with the gap at the back) to my friends, they look at me like the neighborhood chump for buying such a stupidly designed product.

So now I am stuck with a terrible grill that can’t cook red meat. I am going to give it to the neighborhood bar that will use it to cook cheap hamburgers and hot dogs, and I will order a better grill that can actually cook meat. This purchase is a total loss for me.

One more thing: the burners do not light from one to the other — you have to use the lighter for each burner. Not a big deal, but I’ve never seen such a thing on previous gas grills. All I can figure is that this is a very low price grill, and the manufacturer saves money by (1) making a small cover that doesn’t cover the entire top, and (2) making small burners that do not give off much heat, and (3) not connecting the burners.

I should have known better since this grill is such a low price. It’s not always true that you get what you pay for, but this waste of money for me. Please don’t make the same mistake I did.

This grill is exactly as presented and the other reviews are spot-on. It assembles easily. It probably took about an hour and a half. All the pieces are cut and drilled exactly. Just as others have described, I found it helpful to add a two-inch baffle on the back under the lid to keep some of the heat from escaping. After doing so, I had no trouble getting the heat up to 550 degrees F, and with all burners turned to low, the heat remained at about 500 degrees F. I don’t require that high of a temperature very often, but it is good the know that i can expect it when I want it. I think this grill compares very favorably with the big-name brand at less than half the price. I am very pleased and thank so many others for their honest reviews.
