I got this blower to use residentially. I previously had a craftsman 4 cycle weed eater blower that I used on my yard. It didnât have enough power to move the lotus pods out of my grass. This blower not only moves these heavy pods with ease, it is powerful enough to blow the dog poop out of the grass. The power is incredible. It also is not overly heavy when using for long periods of time. I primed the carb 8x as stated in the instructions and started on the 3rd pull in 40 degree temp. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a powerful blower. Only negative I have found is that it burns through a tank of gas pretty fast. I was using it at 75%-90% power for an hour and had to refill. Also going to use it for snow in the upcoming future.

While the model Echo I have is not the same unit, I wanted to take the time to write about a predecessor to this model. Almost 20 years ago, I purchased the largest backpack Echo available, an older version of this unit. Today, as I was blowing 2″ of snow off of my 200 foot sloped driveway, it hit me that I have never had a single issue with my Echo blower. Other than very limited basic maintenance, using treated fuel and Echo’s 2-Stroke Oil, this unit has NEVER failed me. I haven’t even replaced the spark-plug (probably should but why break what is working so well.) My blower starts on the second pull without fail and has run perfectly all of these years during summer and freezing winters here in the Northeast. There is not another piece of equipment in my yard-wrangling arsenal that has been this reliable and trouble-free, not a single one and I always invest in good stuff. Now, I don’t know if this new unit is as good as the one I am still using today, but if it is, I wanted to take the time to share a positive review of it’s predecessor and let all of you know what a fine piece of equipment Echo builds. I can only hope that this advertised unit will work as well and last as long as mine, but I see no reason why it wouldn’t. Hats off to the Echo engineers who designed the most reliable piece of equipment I own.
