I have been looking for tea lights with a timer for a LONG time and finally found these! I just received them, and as soon as I lit them up I immediately went back to Amazon to buy a second set. They are taller – i.e. votive size – but they fit all of my tealight holders and are natural looking. They are more incandescent and do not have that orangey glow you often have with flameless candles. They have a slow dim or fast dim feature which gives the illusion of a flicker as well. The timer is exactly what I was looking for as I have these in candleholders that are up high, and with the remote they’re perfect! Would highly recommend – especially for the price!

Bought these on July 24, 2016. It is now August 18 (less than one month) and one has completely burned out. Funny thing is they are in a second home only used on weekends so they haven’t been used much at all. I was able to get past the fake look but at the end of the day, if they do not work properly, what’s the point? The remote is great. Works very well. Too bad the candles don’t last.

Updated 1/10/17: I thought I updated this to reflect the consistently annoying messages by the seller (via email) to change my review after she sent me ONE replacement candle. Not sure if it was deleted but I just realized my update never posted. Well, here it is: the seller began incessantly emailing me asking me if I had a chance to use them and needed me to update my overall product review. I noticed a few other reviewers have the same opinion I do: these are trash. After the first one burned out then three others followed suit soon after. I finally had to tell the seller to stop emailing me. I get it: they need positive reviews to boost product sales. I certainly do not mind writing reviews to endorse products I actually have a chance to use and can honestly recommend; however, I will not recommend a product I find unsatisfactory. Period.

I just love these “candles”. I put them in mason jars and hung them on my patio fence. I can sit on my couch and the signal goes through the glass door and through the mason jars, so I don’t have to go outside when it is cold or wet to turn them on and off! The flicker is so realistic that a neighbor reported to management that I had unattended lit candles on my wood fence! The settings are great. They don’t seem to drain the batteries, I leave the switch on and they are outside, subject to temperature fluctuations and they work just fine. A friend who has a similar set turns the switch off when she won’t be using them nightly to preserve battery life. She likes the light color of mine better 🙂 I highly recommend these candles.

These LED candles are exceptional. I wanted LED votive candles that were a bit taller than regular tea lights sized candles so the battery life would be longer, the lighting would be brighter, and the candles would make more of a presence. After searching for the appropriately sized candles on Amazon, I was very pleased to find these lovely votive candles. The size is a perfect fit for my Weihnactspyramide (Christmas pyramid) and Christmas churches. The candles themselves are very realistic looking even though they are plastic because the LED flame is realistic. The remote has brightening and dimming as well as candle and flicker features. Amazing given the size of the candles. Also amazing is the reasonableness of the purchase price given the quality of the candles. I liked them so much that I ordered an additional set even though I have no immediate need for them. The advantage of buying two 6 candle sets is that I get two remotes. I use the first set for my Christmas Weihnactspyramide and churches and plan to find some attractive votive holders that I can use with the second set that I ordered.

They work! What more could you ask for? As inexpensively made as things are these days, I half expected to have problems with these neat little candles. They are described as tea lights, but they more resemble votives. Each one of them worked and the remote works too. I can turn the candles on and off from about twenty feet away, as long as I have a clear line of sight to each candle. They flicker, dim and brighten and can be programmed to stay on for 6 hours and off for 18. Don’t expect to be able to read by them, they are really just for atmosphere!

Biggest problem I had with these lights was figuring out how they work. They’re “dimmable,” but at fixed intervals (five different settings) controlled by the remote. I haven’t tried any of the “timer” features, but they’re also controlled by the remote, and I assume they work as advertised. My initial review indicated that the lights “don’t flicker,” but that was a MISTAKE on my part (apologies to the vendor and any readers influenced by my initial review). They actually DO flicker … but you have to manually turn the flicker effect on with either the “A” or “B” button on the remote, and you have to do that every time you turn them on, because they default to a “no flicker” setting each time you turn them off. One of the flicker settings is a slow pulse, and the second a more rapid, flame-like flicker. The shell and “flame” parts both seem to be made of the same, creme-colored material, and the combination of that material with the LED inside the flame part gives the candle away as a fake, particularly if you haven’t activated the “flicker” feature. One other quirk … use of my TV remote occasionally turns them on, and/or messes up your candle settings if they’re on already.

None of these little issues are explained very well in the photos or listing details, and I think the vendor could do a better job with that. Once you get them you just have fiddle around with the remote to figure out the features. But once you do that, the product WORKS as advertised, so I changed my original, 3-star rating to 5-stars.

These little lights are reliable, versatile, and helpful for lots of decorative uses. The remote makes using them very simple and convenient (so you don’t have to physically pick up every one each time you want to turn it on/off), and, at a little over $20 for a dozen of them, they’re a great value.
