Changing the door flap on your mini fridge freezer can be a relatively simple process if you know what you’re doing. The first step is removing the old flap. Once you have removed it, you can then start replacing the new one.
Removing the old door flap
Whether you have a mini fridge or freezer, removing the old door flap can be a very easy task. There are a number of reasons why you may need to do this, including if your fridge is not cooling or if the door swing is not working correctly.
The first step to removing the old door flap is to open the door. You can do this by placing your hand on the top and bottom of the door and pulling. If the door does not hang in the right direction, you may need to straighten it by pulling and gripping the door.
The next step is to remove the top hinge plate. To do this, you will need to remove the two screws on the hinge side. You can do this with a metric #8 socket wrench. You can also remove the small plastic plug by using a small flat screwdriver.
If the door is still not working properly, you may need to remove the bracket that holds the fridge door. This will require you to drop the door below the pivot pin. You can do this with the help of a friend, but you may need to tilt the fridge door. Once you’ve removed the bracket, you will need to put the bracket back on the opposite side of the door.
