If you work at a computer shop, you should buy these super cheap CPU’s, not because they are great, but to upgrade the bios of any motherboards you don’t have compatible processors for. A customer came to me with a 170 series MOBO and wanted to use a 7000 series CPU with it. He said online, it said it was compatible. Now, it’s a no brainer that the socket matches, and if the manufacturer says it works, why doesn’t it? Well, I whipped this bad boy out, tossed it in with a thermally adhered large heatsink on it. (yes, I thermally glued a big o’l heat sink on this badboy) booted it to the bios, updated it with the built in tool. POPed his chip back in and BAM! $40 in my pocket, happy customer, and quick fix!
If you were wondering. This CPU never hits 70c even with a thermally glued on heat sink. I haven’t done all night burn test but I have left it on for over an hour and the bios of the board it was in said Cpu 66c

Not breaking any records with this, but for a cheap mining build, it fits the bill perfectly. Installed in a MSI Z70 SLI Plus mb, no issues, runs cool with included HSF.

Used for a mining rig, does the job

Not really happy with this deal; came out of box with cool paste everywhere; heat sink fins bent and nicked up, fan wires has cuts in the wires; contacted seller, replied once, and never to be heard from again after I sent them the pictures. The cup fan is so loud I can her it over 26 video card fans. CPU has rub marks on it like this nosey fan was vibrating on top of it. Seller said it was new, but the box had no seals on it, and it is really hard to believe based on the poor appearance of the product. L

The Celeron processors are great if you don’t need a lot of CPU power . . . and in a cryptocurrency mining rig, you definitely don’t need a lot of CPU power (if you’re doing GPU mining). That’s where this one comes in use. Trim off some unnecessary expense (and put it toward the graphics cards) by getting this processor. All you need is to load the OS and run the mining software in such a specific tasked machine. This unit is perfect for that.
