Have not installed yet but have tested light. They are very bright with a good light spread and color. I will be installing 10 of these in a 24×36 garage. On the box they are described as having 2250 lumens per light and I believe it. Don’t look directly at the light or you will be seeing spots for quite a while. They are much heavier and sturdier than I expected, that’s not a bad thing in my opinion.

I will be updating this review when I get them all installed.

*****UPDATE…. Have installed 2 of my 10 lights I will be installing. Still thoroughly impressed with quality, brightness and ease of install. With the 2 lights installed 10 feet up I am getting a great light spread and still very bright. The color of the light ( daylight white) is perfect. It’s not too blue or harsh to be rough on your eyes and the color rendering is that of the actual daylight sun.

**** UPDATE… Installed all 10 in my 24x36x10 garage and are loving every bit of the lights. They all worked like a charm. The light spread is phenomenal and the color and brightness is superb. With all 10 of them running I have zero dark spots in the garage and have a total 22,500 lumens. The brightness with all of them on is not harsh or straining on the eyes.

I will try and post new pics of all of them installed, but do not hesitate to buy these lights. I pondered for a month about them because I was skeptical, that was just needless. They are amazing. I do not know if the 50,000 hour life span will hold true, only time will tell, but to be honest if I only get a few years out of them I will buy a replacement and chalk it up to just changing a light bulb.

I have dropped the rating from a five star to a three star due to 7 of the 10 flickering and/or burning out. The companies warranty program is very good and replacing the lights under the 2 year warranty was very easy. I do find it ridiculous that they have a 70% failure rate after only 10 months, even if they replace them easily. The lights when working 100% are still a great light though. You can buy replacement chips if you want to replace the chip after the warranty expires.

Was unsure how I would like this light but after installing my fears were eliminated. I wanted something I could install over my steps in the deck area so I could go out with the dog at night and not fall. It not only lights the steps but a large area around the steps. This same basic set up at the local building supply store was over $45.00. I have already purchase my second one. Some have complained wires were not marked. The unit I received had a manual and the fixture had a wiring diagram. This light is very bright and not the kind you would want to have where you would be staring at when approaching. Mine is mounted very high out of direct eye contact.

Installed a pair of these indoors to replace 2 tube fluorescent shop lights. Excellent amount and quality of light, each comparable to a 250 watt halogen lamp but without all the heat. Compact fixture is much more attractive than the cumbersome old shop lights and no buzzing ballasts. Had to disassemble one to install a longer cord, unlike many cheap LED fixtures these are actually grounded and appear to have proper heat sinking of the LED array.
Would be nice if the cords were longer and that large 30W on the front is pointless.

Using 2 of these for spot lights for my 125 aquarium planted tank. Almost opted for the 50W but took a chance on the 30’s as they are supplemented with a Finnex 24/7. PLENTY of intense, bright light for only 30W! The spread is perfect for my tank as it throws light exactly where I want it. It’s also great for the fish as there are different zones in the aquarium of very bright to subdued lighting. They do get a bit warm but the housing does an adequate job of dissipating heat. Only time will tell if these lights will last as I am running them for 6hrs/day to start with. With lights this bright and in the correct wavelength, I’ll be surprised if I need longer exposure unless I pump CO2.
Wiring – These cords are more like pigtails than cords. I needed to make sure the cord was water proof for obvious reasons. Soldered all connections with a double layer of heat shrink and silicone sealant. Not quite long enough for outdoor application though as the splice will have to be very close to the junction box. For my application, it’s fine. For outdoor lighting, these lights should come with at least 4′ of wire. In any case, will be buying more of these for security lights. Careful how you aim them though, they are BRIGHT!

Had two of these installed on the back of the house overlooking the pool and large yard. They were put up by an electrician without much problem. He opened up the light case to check something and found that the paper instruction re: the wiring colors differed from what was printed on the inside ballast so called the company for support/clarification (the paper instruction had the correct colors). And, the technical support was pleasant enough and fairly knowlegeable. The lights are quite bright – easily can see 50 or so feet to the back fence – they adjust up and down but not horizontally so needed to accommodate accordingly in the placement and they are so bright would be a problem if placed so you had to look right into them. Am very pleased to have these up and working so well.
