LEVOIT LV-H132 Air Purifier, Black

It is a little bigger and heavier than I expected. I thought we could put this on a table, but seems like this goes best on floor or a side table placed with some distance apart from the wall. I chose the floor in my living room. Set up was a charm like in less than 5 minutes. The product makes no noise when its running, just a gentle hissing sound on level 3. I gave it 20 minutes and when I came back to living room it did feel fresh. Try moving around from a bathroom to a living room, you will feel a difference in the freshness.

It was on a typical day in summer and just felt fresh and nice. My son(toddler) has extreme sensitivity to smells and starts coughing on any change in envt. This has been a welcome respite for us, hence. Any food smell disappears in like less than 5 minutes.

Update Oct 2017: Works like a charm no issues yet, the moment we have some spicy stuff cooking or want to just do away with food smell(for the sake of my son) we have it on. Within less than 15 minutes each time the room is fresh and neutralized of any odor.

After having used this for a few months I can confidently say how great this air purifier is. With the wildfires the air quality in Oregon has been very unhealthy and at times hazardous. Combined with the heat we have no choice but to leave our windows open or the air conditioner running. We also have hardwood floors so the dust, dander, and pet hair gets kicked up very easily.

This air purifier has made a world of difference! No smoke smell in the room it’s ran in and I don’t have to worry as much about my son constantly breathing in the smog. We haven’t had to change the filter yet, just occasionally clean the dust and pet hair stuck around the outside of the air intake

This ran for two days before the power failed. I sent an email to their customer support and have not heard anything.

I always read bad reviews first to get a feel for whether it’s the product or the user that’s not working properly. In the case of the Levoit LV-H132 Air Purifier, it’s the user by an overwhelming majority (with incorrect filter installation and/or neglecting to remove the filter from the plastic bag it comes in the most prevalent user error).

I have a very small apartment and I smoke very large cigars. My place reeked of stale tobacco and I was at my wits end looking for a solution (quitting cigars was not an option).

After much research and dozens of professional reviews, the Levoit LV-H132 Air Purifier was the single best solution. Price, size, efficiency, ease of use and the cost of replacement filters are all ideal for my needs.

I plugged it in, set it on high and went to work. When I came home that night, the stale cigar smoke odor was dramatically rreduced and continued to diminish until, by the third morning, it was completely gone.

I wrote the company to ask if a ceiling fan aided the units efficiency and was told that it does, indeed, do so and an open window increases efficiency further still.

I cannot recommend this unit highly enough. It has absolutely transformed the smell of my apartment from that of a stanky bachelor pad into that of the residence of a distinguished gentleman.

If only it could do the same for my appearance!

This is the best air purifier for small to medium-small rooms you can buy in this price range. Period.

After 3 years my Germ Guardian didn’t seem to be working even with new filters installed. After noticing the bad reviews as to customer service with Guardian: people contacting company because had burning plastic smell and company said was “normal” and it would go away; telling a recent purchaser it would cost them $50 in shipping to send to company for repair…I looked for something new and found Levoit. Yes the fresh smell and all you see in reviews is true! First night I woke up and noticed my lungs were more wide open I could breathe better. Have had them for a couple of months they are great. One of the three had an odd sound, so called customer service. They said if I had any problems in first year they just ship you a new one. They shipped out a new one next day and sent me a ups prepaid postage to return it. Great company!

I needed an additional air purifier for my home and did extensive research, spent hours reading reviews and comparing specs and prices before choosing this air purifier. I had originally intended to buy a Honeywell device as I already own one for many years and am very happy with it, but the reviews on the modern Honeywell purifiers were not that great, and also there appears to be a problem getting the right filters for them. So I looked at ALL the available manufacturers and models, and I’m glad I bought this one. It works great and the optional night light is a neat feature, too. If I had one complaint, and this is going to sound silly, it would be that the unit is a bit “too quiet” for my purpose. I had used the Honeywell as a white noise generator to drown out noises in the house and help me sleep. This Levoit device is fairly quiet even on the highest fan setting, but it is working out fine for me and I love it. Also it is much smaller than the Honeywell that I had and is therefore more convenient to place in the room.
