I used a Lifeproof Fre for almost three years on my iPhone 6 and liked it. Just got an iPhone 8 and purchased the latest Fre. For some reason, the built-in screen protector is now much farther from the screen and home button. Almost concave. This makes using the screen or home button difficult to impossible. The screen often does not respond to swipes or touch. The home button is very hard to engage. Mashing down on a new iPhone for basic functionality is not the way to go. Very disappointed in a case I once relied on.

PRO TIP: For muffling and issues with sound, go to your Settings / General / Accessibility and then turn off the Phone Noise Cancellation. As indicated on their website, this feature needs to be turned off for the sound to work properly in these phones.

I was very disappointed with his case because the clear screen cover arrived with a defect in it. There is an imperfection about a cm long that appears almost like a cut in the material. I’m afraid that in time the damaged area will become larger and my phone will not be fully protected from weather elements which is what I purchased the case for. Also, because of where the defect is (in the keyboard area), it’s really annoying to feel the divot every time I use my phone. Also the screen protector doesn’t connect flush with the screen of my phone, so I have several “bubbles” that are visible as well- also very annoying. For the price I payed for this item, I am very disappointed. I purchased one case for myself, and a second for my husband. His seems to be working great. Maybe I just got a defective product…

If you have iPhone 8 buy the Lifeproof Case for the 7 it fits the same and half the price shame on life proof for jacking the price!

– Annoying headphone jack screw thing from previous version is gone, was necessary for waterproofing but thankful it’s no longer necessary
– Can survive serious rough housing (dropped off roof onto cement… yeah, this is my life)
– If you have issues with muffling sound/microphone, go to your Settings-General-Accessibility and turn off your noise cancellation setting as indicated in the instructions

All this on top of an AMAZING warranty. We bought this exact case for a new phone and the corner didn’t snap all the way shut. I pushed and pushed, took it off, put it back on, just wouldn’t do the thing. One 3 minute form on their website and a small shipping fee later, a replacement case was provided with no questions asked, no photos necessary, no return of original needed. Easy as pie. Consider us lifetime customers, worth every penny plus some.

The case in general is a strong, durable case. However, the cases ability to keep out water must have overcome it’s ability to take in sound. For some reason while on the phone,on speaker or if the phone is not directly help to your cheek it sounds as if you are in a tunnel. I’m not the only one who’s had this problem with the life proofs for I have many friends and family members who use the case and had similar issues. So if that inconvenience isn’t problematic to you then feel free to buy the expensive case.

The case came earlier than expected and was delivered on a Sunday! It fits my iPhone 8 with a glass screen protector great, and the colors are really genuine and cute.

I absolutely love this case. I had one years ago for an iPhone 5, which felt large and bulky. This case on my iPhone 8 feels slim and not much larger than any other average size case. The sound has significantly improved as well, people can hear you without sounding muffled. The security and quality make this an easy purchase.
