I’ve had my Ninja Coffee Bar for a few weeks now. Originally, I was in the market for a Keurig product. I am always in a hurry in the morning, so I needed something simple and quick. I was looking for something that was capable of both single-serves and larger servings of coffee. Additionally, I was looking for a machine that was capable of automatically brewing at a certain set time. Not only did the Ninja Coffee Bar meet these needs, it exceeded my expectations! I’m now convinced that I could never find a Keurig that comes anywhere close to this amazing machine!

Not only is it capable of making single servings or larger servings, it has six different brew sizes! I’m pretty sure I’ve used almost all of them already! This is a totally useful feature. The machine is also large enough that you can brew directly into your large travel mugs, something that many Keurig machines are too short for. And if you’re using an average size coffee cup, simply flip out the stand so it fits more snugly near to the top of the machine!

In addition to the sizes, you can customize how you’d like your brew to come out! There’s the “classic brew” that I use for just my average cups of coffee. There’s the “rich brew” for those who enjoy a more rich, flavorful cup. There’s the “specialty brew”, which is a super-concentrated 4oz cup that’s great for adding all the flavorful syrups you’d like without offsetting the taste of the coffee. There’s the “Over Ice Brew”, which is also a little more concentrated so that the ice doesn’t dilute the flavor. Lastly, there’s the “Cafe Forte” brew, which is supposed to amplify all the natural hints of flavors that are in the coffee. I haven’t gotten to try the Cafe Forte brew yet, but I’m sure like everything else, it’s delicious! A Keurig machine could never offer the customization abilities that I’ve found in the Ninja Coffee Bar.

When straying away from Keurig, I was afarid that I would miss the ease of using K-cups, but my opinion has completely flip-flopped! I would never go back to overpriced K cups. With this machine, I can use any ground coffee I’d like! (Note that this machine is only capable of brewing from ground coffee, so if you have beans you will need to grind them before brewing). Not only does this give me more choices and free me from the ridiculous K cup prices, but K-cup coffee is much less fresh than ground coffee that comes in a bag. Additionally, I definitely am not missing the “ease” of K cups. The Ninja Coffee Bar comes with a little coffee ground scooper that conveniently attaches to the side of the machine. It tells you how many scoops to use for each brew size right on the scooper, and you can always use more or less if you’d like. I feel so free from the K-cups!

The electronic milk frother is awesome! Simply heat up your milk, then put the frother in the glass and hold down the button. It doesn’t take long to get barista-style frothed milk. When you’re done frothing the milk, simply detach the handle, wash it off, and reattach it!

The Ninja Coffee Bar is chop-full of other features that I absolutely love. It also has a clean cycle (and notifies you when it needs a cleaning), which I’ve personally never seen on a Keurig machine. The permanent coffee filter is awesome and easy to clean! No need to use paper filters. There’s a clock right on the coffee bar, and you can set it to brew at a certain time. It comes with a little recipe book that has 20 recipes of specialty drinks and how to make them using the Ninja Coffee Bar. I’ve not had a single problem with this machine yet, and I’ve used it multiple times a day. The machine looks and feels like a quality product.

In summary, the Ninja Coffee Bar is the perfect combination of convenience and choice. It’s the most versatile coffee machine I’ve encountered, as well as the most easy-to-use. There are not many products I would sing such high praises to, but I would recommend the Ninja Coffee Bar to anyone. I paid $160, which I found to be reasonable and well worth it. As someone who used to be a die-hard Keurig fan, take it from me and buy the Ninja Coffee Bar.

Purchased the coffee bar here at Amazon. I love it, but, It needed cleaned at first once a week, and progressively got worse
I emailed manufacturer last week. Reply said they would contact me within 24 hours. No word yet, and clean light won’t go out, no matter how much I use the clean cycle. I only use water filtered with Britta. Had a kurig for years, used same water, without a problem! Can’t get ninja maker to reply!

As MANY people here mentioned, the cleaning system is a piece of crap.

After just a few brews (with filtered water), the “clean” light came on. I said, ok, let’s clean it then. Used a descaling agent as indicated and the light went off. A month after the light came back on… to make a long story short, each time the light came back on even faster. At this point, I clean the machine and the next pot you brew it goes back on. Neither white vinegar nor descaling solution have any effect.

Since this has been described as the first symptom before the machine starts breaking and brewing badly, I called customer service. After all, many people said they had good service.
I can testify that the service I got was nothing even remotely like good. The VERY rude lady that came on the phone would not let me speak or explain the problem and became dismissive as soon as I started mentioning the problem. I guess they have been instructed to not accept ANY complaints on this matter since I imagine Ninja must be loosing money on these evidently defective machines.
She would simply not let me speak and kept saying that maybe the machine’s sensors were dirty and that might never go away and they would do nothing about it. Let me say it again: SHE WOULD NOT EVEN LET ME SPEAK.

Finally she basically chased me off the call. I could not believe that ANY company could have such horrible customer service. I’m still in disbelief.
I’ll have to guesstimate how/when to clean it and throw it away once the coffee starts brewing bad. I thought I was buying a quality product, not a disposable $165 piece of crap.

Do yourself a favor and deal with a company with some quality standards and some reputation. These people are thieves.

My biggest complaint about my Keurig is needing the plastic cups all the time. I hate that they can’t be recycled in my town, and if you are a big coffee drinker, you’re not doing the environment any favors. This Ninja system is freedom from those plastic cups!

The machine can: keep carafe warm, brew on a timer, make adjustable amounts (cup, large cup, travel mug, XL mug, half carafe, full carafe), and even make adjustable types of brews (classic, rich, or iced).

There is a pop-out single cup platform if you just want a single cup. The measuring scoop attaches to the side of the unit. The frother is on an arm that swings out to the side of the unit, so if you don’t make frothy drinks, you can just keep it out of the way. The frother twists off and on, for cleaning. The machine has a self-cleaning feature, and will light up the “clean” button on the control panel when it needs cleaning. The instructions recommend you clean it before the first use, and then weekly thereafter. You can buy coffee maker cleaner, or just use vinegar to clean the machine.
