* SPECIAL NOTE: The product was freely provided by the vendor for testing and evaluation purposes.
I was a teenager in the 1960s. Everyone owned a transistor pocket-sized AM radio and rocked to KJR’s Pat O’Day in Seattle, Washington. This was our “must have” mobile device – the Post-war Baby Boomers’ equivalent to this generation’s “I-Phone” and smart phone. My review compares this product to the numerous that I owned during my teenage years.
1. PHYSICAL FEATURES: The unit is small and very light. There are only three simple controls: volume, station tuning, and AM/FM/Power ON-OFF switch.
2. VERSATILITY: FM stations are received as well as AM.
3. MUSICAL QUALITY: The speaker is surprisingly good. The music is clear, and the volume is loud.
1. RANGE: The operational radius is short. I can only receive Seattle stations inside my over-insulated house. These include 15 FM and 11 AM.
Suburban and neighboring city radio stations were weak. The quality of their transmissions were garbled and distorted.
2. No head phones were provided.
Comparing this product to the transistor radios of the 1960s, the DEGEN FM/AM 2 BAND RADIO is significantly superior in every attribute: size, weight, sound quality, versatility, and simplicity. Both were equal in reception distance.

Amazing little radio which is a real performer for it’s size. The reception is really good and not bad sounding either.
This seems to be close to the famous Kaito KA 200. UPDATE I found the little radio to be amazing, it’s reception is really dumbfounding, it pulls in signals from hundreds miles away after dark. This is a great deal, don’t miss it. You will never find another radio at this price with this level of performance.
Awesome little radio! I was thinking what can you possibly get for $10.00, took a chance based on other reviews. This gets better reception than radios costing 2-3Xs the price of this one. Sound is good! Gets all the local stations, cool ð¤ð½ð¤ð½ð¤ð½
This radio uses batteries faster than the similar Kato. I have to turn the volume control all the way up to get decent sound. When I turn it on I find that the frequency has changed and I have to retune. Not a bad radio, just not really good. I bought it because the slide switch on the Kato jammed and eventually broke.
May 9, 2019. After my review Prunus Degen emailed my an offer to return the radio. I didn’t, because the radio is inexpensive and I didn’t want to bother returning. Within a few days Prunus Degen said they were voluntarily sending another radio. This one has been trouble free. Battery life is excellent and frequency drift does not occur. I’m changing my review to 5 stars and adding another 5 stars to Prunus Degen for their outstanding service and attention.

What a cute little radio, said my wife.
Don’t let it’s diminutive size fool you. It acts like one of the big guys. Reception is very good, as is sound and volume. And – — – it stands on its own!
Make a great gift and easily recommended.

Great little radio! This little thing packs a punch, which surprised me because of the price. I use it for work since we’re not allowed to use our phones. It sounds great and can be really loud. Signal is great. Very happy with my little radio.

I have 4 different small AM/FM portable radios. This is the best of the lot. It pulls in local and distant stations much more clearly than the other three. It is smaller than a pack of cigarettes. The mode switch (AM/FM) is not easily moved unintentionally. It puts out phenomenal sound for it’s size. The design is superior. Well worth the price. Works great with or without headphones / earbuds. Holds stations very well when I am out gardening or walking the dogs.

What a great buy for such a small price and such a powerful little radio!
I was concerned about the clarity of reception as I live surrounded by tall trees; however, this little radio’s sound is amazing. I bought this for an emergency earthquake kit; however, I will be using this way more frequently due to the quality of the sound on both AM and FM. Very pleased! Highly recommend.
Light & Pocket Portable with An Incredible Little Speaker

I really like the smooth, simplistic design and ease when it comes to using the PRUNUS DEGEN-DE333. It’s close to the size of a deck of cards and it’s pretty light even with the 2 AAA batteries(not included but you do get a portable bag) inserted so portability is endless. The sound quality from the built-in speaker definitely exceeded my expectation; i honestly didn’t expect something so small to have that much volume and still maintain clarity without any distortion. At max volume i was able to hear it from more than 40ft away even with the windows open in the attic and all the way to the second floor of our house that’s about 15ft. If you have a great pair of headphones like my Sony it’ll heighten your listening experience even further which is fantastic for all you music lovers. It also comes in handy to avoid unnecessary disturbances and at the same time keep the music going so it’s a win win. I got about 19 AM(you’ll have to turn the volume up because most of the stations are quite low)/26 FM stations with and without the antenna but i think if i move it around more i might pick up a few more. So far i’ve been enjoying a variety of stations like 88.1 FM, 97.3 FM, 104.5 FM, Funny 820 AM and my dad’s been mainly interested in the Cantonese stations.
Overall i love the convenient size and sound quality but i personally wish it had a rechargeable battery and possibly a stand(it can stand vertically but it could be a bit more secure) but besides that it’s great.
Good value for money

I bought this little radio mainly to listen to ball games while relaxing outside. Unfortunately, the AM band is not it’s strong point but is just ok. The FM band especially when listened to with quality earphones, is very good and I am quite happy with the sound. More than happy in fact. If you are looking for an FM pocket radio for use while walking or relaxing then I highly recommend this one.
Works well and takes little counter space

Great radio. Itâs a very compact little unit can fit in my pocket but I mainly use it near my kitchen window to listen while doing dishes. Itâs easy to tune into station and it can get loud. The on/off am and fm is located to the side. The only thing I dislike is that it doesnât come with batteries ready to use but itâs quite common, you will require two aaa batteries. Overall, great unit to have. Works and takes little counter space.

Le vendeur m’a dit qu’il pourrait m’envoyer un autre radio parce que j’ai de la difficulté à capter le poste Fm. J’attends toujours de recevoir un autre radion.

Things I like, loud sound, Clear Reception, headset headphone jack, fits comfortable in the hand and pocket. Also, it is just a FM/AM radio. Liberating not to have the cell phones notifications interrupt listening and most importantly the attention. A nice little thing. No matter what happens you will get radio signal and stay connected.
Things I wish it had, hand bracelet hook, and somehow a little larger tuning, sound and/off functions – USB charge rather than batteries.
Great reception, very compact.

Oh wow! Smallest portable radio I have ever had. Sound wonderful. I work in a camera room and initially had Sony portable radio. I could listen to my favourite AM radio show. Switched and got this one. Smaller, sound better, and I can easily get my AM station at work!

Surprisingly good sound for such a tiny radio. Tuned to my favourite local FM station with no trouble. Cute little pouch, and comes in a nice box. I just wish it had a built-in stand so I could position it for ideal reception, but overall I’m very pleased with this handy little purchase.
Great little machine.

Fits perfectly in the pocket. Signal is strong. Volume is great. Stations are coming in no problem. I dropped it, and something is loose in the radio but still works perfectly. Love, love this radio!
Edit: This is my third little radio. Not because it stopped working, but I keep losing it on my work sites. Helps keep the morale up among my crew.

It’s a nice little radio that comes with a little bag to put it in. I use the when I am out and about and feel like listening to CBC. The reception is very good and the small size easily fits in my purse pocket. I just wish it came with a rechargeable battery, otherwise it’s a nice product.

I love the aesthetic of this little radio and the box it came in. I bought this as a gift for my partner and it was perfect! smaller than I was expecting which can only be a good thing. So good that it has its own speaker as well as the headphone option (not all radios will have both). Very reasonable price. Very quick shipping. Highly recommend

This radio is perfect. Works great, can be used with headphones and sound is quite good. Works if you require a radio for a Grand Prix as sound comes out of both sides of headphones (not all transistor radios do that). It is so small and light weight, it will fit inside a shirt pocket.

I live in a city with many A.M. stations. This radio cannot tune in to the most powerful station. What do you want for 20 dollars, get that. F.M. reception seems fine. I am sorry I wasted my twenty on this on this product.
