Looks great but doesnt work

Purchased it about a month ago. It was opened, inspected, tested with 3 small diameter sticks. Happy i put it back in the box until today. On 12/20 i pulled out of the box to prune small trees to discover it will not work. The batteries and LED on device is good but when i pull the trigger to unlock and use, there’s no activity
The power doesn’t appear to activite trigger. The product was stored in my house in a closet to prevent rust or any elements. I now have to return it. Bummer!
