Caution: company is not honoring the five-year warranty. As I write this review, you are able to download a pdf copy of the warranty from within the amazon product description. The company refers to the bottom portion of this vacuum as a “floor nozzle” (i.e., the part that you roll along the floor, which contains the brush, belt, small motor and electronic circuitry). This is the part that failed on our unit after 2 years and 8 months. It is a major part of the vacuum, not a consumable item, yet the company is excluding it from being covered. The warranty is written in a pretty straightforward manner. If you take the time to read it, you will see no language that could possibly be interpreted to exclude a major part such as the floor nozzle. It almost appears as if they have accumulated enough positive reviews to disregard the promises of their warranty and/or the effects of a negative review like this one…perhaps if enough people click that this review is helpful, it will rise to a prominent position so that more buyers can make an informed decision. (04:51:19 PM) Joe P: I have a Shark Rotator Professional (NV 501 31) purchased from amazon on 12/8/2014 with 5 year warranty. Brush does not spin and it is not belt. Called your warranty service department and confirmed via troubleshooting procedures that it I am doing everything correctly and that it is not working. Person I spoke with then stated that the part would not be covered. Before I contact amazon and/or leave a review, I wanted to confirm that the warranty would not be honored.

(05:00:07 PM) Joe P: The problem I’m having is that the warranty does not exclude that item, and I believe that other reviewers on amazon claimed to have had it replaced under the warranty. It does not seem legal the way the warranty is worded. At a minimum, it is highly misleading.

The vacuum was delivered on June 21, 2017, and died on August 28, 2017. Nothing happened during the less than 12 times it was used which would have caused it to quit working except for poor quality of the unit. Trying to deal with their customer service was frustrating at best. The worst part is that they stick their customers with paying the shipping costs to replace products that are under warranty. I cannot recommend either the product or the company.

I have to say I am really impressed. I have had a Dyson for years. Like everyone who owns a Dyson, you think the expensive price tag equals quality. Most of the time this is true. And Dyson has quality. I was hesitant at the price tag considering it was relatively half priec of my previous vacuum.
I was turned on to this unit by a professional flooring inspector. He referred me to a website that does third party testing on vacuum cleaners. This unit was the highest rated among canister vacuums. There a many which have better ratings but I will not buy a vacuum that uses bags.
I opened the box and I was really pleased with the ease of assembly. Instructions are very well written.

I decided to give it a run immediately. Keep in mind, it had only been a couple days since my old vacuum broke. I noticed it brought the pile on the carpet back to life and wasn’t too loud. Here is what I was blown away by. (SEE PIC. btw we have two cats lol) Like I said before, it had only been a couple days since we vacuumed last. Well, looks like we made a great choice.

You will not be sorry. On top of all this awesomeness, this unit has a variety of features which I haven’t used. It converts to a hand held canister for the stairs too!

I will be honest, this wasn’t my first choice when I went vacuum shopping, but it won me over. Our cleaning lady has raved about hers for so long, I thought I’d give it a try. She has always said the company stands by their product and she recommends them to all of her clients. I am glad I listened to her advice!

At first, I was totally confused between the different models, but with a little research, I was good to go! I like the lift away feature the Rotator Professional has to make vacuuming the stairs that much easier! Not only that, but I really like the attachment to vacuum the furniture of pet hair. If you have ever had a black Lab, you know exactly what I’m talking about! You can vacuum endlessly, so you’d better love your vacuum!

When my Shark first arrived, I was impressed with the size and weight of the box. “Whew, this isn’t going to be flimsy”, was my first thought. As I was then impressed at the amount of packing material! Awesome job there! I didn’t need to open the instructions. It was all pretty self explanatory if you have ever assembled a vacuum. I should note, you do not need any tools at all. This is all very simple! Pop the unit onto the base, pop the hose on, put your tools onboard and you are good to go!

The true test for me is carpet tracks. Don’t even ask, but I love to see carpet tracks. We have one room that is high traffic and the carpet gets blah fast. The next test is suction. Let’s face it, why buy a vacuum if it doesn’t suck. This one was great to a point of embarrassing. I had already vacuumed using our old vacuum. When this arrived, of course I had to give it a test drive! Wow…I could not believe the cup of dog hair and dirt it picked up!

The vacuum itself is easy to use and gets into all the areas you want it to! It swivels when you want it to and YES, it has headlights! I had to laugh! You’d be surprised what you actually see on your floor with lights down there! It’s always nice to see a Lego before you hear it go clunk clunk up into your vacuum.

Rotator brush on? Off? Easy to do! A simple push of the button and you can go from hardwood straight to carpet! It’s that simple! Need to empty the dirt cup? Again, simple! 1-2-3 and you are on your way!

With all of my reviews, I really like to think about a product and what about it do I love and hate….even with a product that I love. The only thing that I miss with this vacuum is the wider width of the path. My older vacuum had a wider path and I would have liked that. I didn’t realize that the Navigator Professional is the one with the wider path. I actually learned that by reading the reviews after my purchase. I don’t miss it enough to exchange it! I am very happy and looking forward to a long lasting relationship with my vacuum!
