Shentec 5.0Ah 40V GreenWorks 29462 29472 G-MAX Replacement Battery, Li-ion Greenworks Battery (NOT for Gen 1)

The product fits perfectly on my GreenWorks MO40L410 G-MAX 40V 20″ cordless lawn mower. I finally had a chance to use it after all the rain I had this past week. My property is .36 acres, the front and side are relatively flat but the back yard slopes down. Considering that the ground was still soaked with all the rain water and my back yard has not been mowed in 3 weeks, lawn mower with the Shentec 5.0Ah 40v battery was able to mow the back yard lawn and still had one charge light indicator. The lawn mower was configured in mulch mode so the mower was constantly at full power due to weather, 3 weeks of growth and fallen leaves. Battery lasted 40 minutes and still had one light indicator, possibly meaning that the battery had 25% charge remaining. For the front and sides of my lawn, I used the original oem battery and I used it for 35 minutes with one light indicator remaining. For the price point, I am rating this product 4 stars, I would give it 5 stars but I recently received it so I am not certain of the longevity of the product. I will update this review when I can mow the lawn under normal dry conditions to see if the battery will last on .36 acres.

Update 3/4/2018: I used the battery once on full charge. It now does not charge, charge level stays on one led light. I am downgrading my rating to 3 stars. I emailed the manufacturer, Shentec, let’s see what happens.

Update 3/12/2008: I raised the stars to 4 again. Shentec Customer service responded quickly.and replaced the defective battery. I would like to give 5 stars just for the customer service but I am holding back since the first battery was not charging after 2 months of use and then not charging after a total of 4 months. The warranty is 12 months so I update this review in 12 months, keeping my fingers crossed that this second battery lasts longer than the first.

This battery would not charge. New charger indicated the battery was defective. Returned for full refund.
FOLLOW UP: Approximately two weeks later Shentec sent me a new replacement battery for all the trouble I went through. The battery charged up fine in the charger but I have yet to use the battery on my chain saws. I assume it will work properly. I may have just received a ‘bad egg’ the first time around. Shentec’s follow-up with me after the return, indicates they are a solid company with a concern for putting out a quality product and following up up when problems develop to present themselves as a reliable/trustworthy company. They are to be commended for this. I will change my star rating from 1 star to 4 stars.

I have a GreenWorks lawn mower that takes two batteries. It came with a 2Ah and 4Ah battery. I ordered this off brand 5Ah battery last week and mowed my 0.25 acre lawn this weekend. I did it over two days, so two total charges of the 4Ah and 5Ah battery. Also, I hadn’t mowed in about a month so the grass was really, really long.

This battery was an excellent price and performed about as expected, lasting about as long, possibly longer, than the OME 4Ah battery. With one more of these suckers, I think I’ll be able to do the entire lawn in one shot. Not that I really want to do that, though.

The first one worked fine until the second charge, when it died. It was after the return window from Amazon had closed, so I wasn’t too hopeful. Shentec got back to me right away, asked for a photo of the battery dead on the charger, and gave me the option of my money back or a new battery. So far so good with the new one, and GREAT customer service.

These Shentec made batteries are indeed G-MAX compatible. They are longer lasting than the best of the name brand G-MAX batteries. This is a quality made product at a much more affordable price. I bought two and use them on a mulching mower and a pole saw. Thank you, Shentec!

Nice idea but didn’t work. Nowhere in the return area for a replacement wish you could talk customer service apparently Amazon does not want to change my updated review of this company which is five stars this is the third time I have posted an update

Don’t buy this battery. Battery dies after 5 min of run time and was only able to charge and use it twice.

Works fine, don’t have any problems with charging or using it. Fits perfect to all greenworks tools I have.
