SNAIL 10′ X 20′ Pop-up Outdoor Shelter, Heavy Duty Aluminum Canopy, Commercial Portable Tent, White

Well, I am jumping the gun here, as I have not used yet. But considering the weight and the size of the canopy, this looks like a home-run. I have gone through 4-5 60.00 canopies. The typical ACE, Big Lots, Academy “on sale” kind. I decided to do some homework and try to find something that didn’t crumble in even slightly adverse weather. Boy do I have stories. But I didn’t want to pay over 200 for the “commercial” type. Anyhow, this thing feels like a tank. It does not have wheels, FYI. But I don’t care. My last 10×10 weighed about 25lbs. This one pushes 60! I saw a review that it withstood beach high winds. No way, no way is that possible, I thought. Well, I am not going to go there yet, but after checking this thing out, I think it just might.

I will continue review once I actually use it.

UPDATE: I have routinely put up other canopies, but not this one. I needed another hand. I have had up for about 3 days. Wind gusts to almost 20 was about the max, and the canopy shook a little, but very secure and clearly strong and heavy duty. Still very happy. Construction is a little different from my others past. The top structure runs across the side height and the top has a vertical support. Meaning you can reach up and touch. I will try and post a photo soon. I’ll have up for the 4th as well and will update if anything changes. For now, highly recommended. Remember, though, it is heavy. This to me is a great trade off if it stays together in less than perfect weather.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Still very happy. Tough and strong. I live in Houston, so the weather is not so great. 30-40 mph winds were not a problem! Rocked and squeaked some, but held up just fiine. I have not left it up during a typical Houston pouring rain storm, but did have it up during a good steady shower. No leaks. So, so happy with this purchase. Now, it is heavy, but that is one of the reasons it is so durable and reliable in heavy wind. And above I mentioned it was a 2 man job to put up and take down. Since then, however, I have routinely done it alone. I am in my 50s, but pretty capable. Still easier with 2 for sure.

Edited to add that after a couple months up, the metal leg snapped in half.not as heavy duty as I thought it was for what I paid. It’s losing a few stars.

This canopy is very heavy duty. Top is made of a thick, strong material. Legs seem sturdy. I plan on leaving it up all winter so my small dogs have a place to do their business in the rain. I bought twist in anchors from Tractor Supply and screwed them in the ground next to the legs and then zip tied the legs to the anchors. It’s been up for a week with light winds and rain and it’s very solid so far. Way nicer than the cheapo $60 ones you can get at any store.

Initially I was impressed by this canopy. However, my first use ended with a broken canopy leg due to wind. I chalked this up to a fluke and was sent a second unit. That one also lasted only a day, breaking at the exact same place. Attempting to get a refund, now.

Sturdy and well built, it looks like it shouldve been 200+ extremely happy with it i would recommend it to anyone looking to buy a pop up canopy. It is a bit heavy but not impossible to pick up and it is pretty hard to set up by yourself but id imagine any canopy is a 2 person job.

Researched for a while to find a canopy that has a steel frame, is sturdy and would withstand wind and rain, and this seems to be just right. It was a bit heavy, but I was able to put it up myself, and I’m not a spring chicken anymore. Anyway, it seems to be a very good tent, the price is reasonable too. I will add updates as time goes on as far as durability, since I just received it. So far its met my expectations well.

Update, I lowered it during hurricane Irma, and while part of the canvas top came off, the tent made it through, with tropical force winds sustained of 50 mph and gusts of 90mph for two days. Wow. Yes, this is a great tent. And it was under oak trees nestled between two to keep it in place, but the frame did not break. Like this a lot.

I do live sound work and go through 3 cheap 10’x10′ every summer,all around 70-80 each,and they always leak somewhere,and die by wind.Used this for the first time last week for 3 days, well built,real canvass, and no wind issues,highly recommend this!

This thing is MASSIVE and heavy. I could barely lift it and there’s no way I could haul to set up alone. It’s definitely a two-person job. I know there are lighter options out there, I’ll be looking for one as I returned this.

Great product, heavy frame and canopy material is of high quality. The people in the trailer bought after they saw ours.
