It does take up space, but having it in the middle of our living room is still worth it. It is super easy to set up, too. Literally four pieces hook together and you are done. It is sturdy and the car stays on the track well. After they come down off of the roller coaster, even on carpet, my almost 2-year-old still rolls about 4 feet past it. On hardwood or tile they would fly even farther. It’s fun! I was worried that my son would have trouble getting the roller coaster back up to its starting point but it’s no trouble at all. They just grip the front handle and run it back up and then step off to go up the stairs to get back on. Over and over and over and over, again!
