UAG Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus [6.2-inch screen] Monarch Feather-Light Rugged [BLACK] Military Drop Tested Phone Case

Years ago, I bought a UAG phone case for my Galaxy S6 Edge. What originally sold me on buying this case was that they advertised their phone cases as “military drop-test standards.” I honestly don’t even know what that means, but I need all the help I can get in keeping my phone intact, and the phrase “military drop-test standards” sounded like it could do the job. So, I had my first UAG case for years. Because I was always messing with it (I’m a “fiddler”), I had completely detached the rubber part of the case from the plastic. However, despite pulling it apart, I was still able to pop the separate pieces back together and back onto my phone, and it still worked perfectly. The other great thing about this case is that it’s not clunky like some of the more efficient and expensive phone cases out there. Now I have a UAG case on my Galaxy S9+ and the quality is on par with my previous case. This is a $1000 phone – I wouldn’t have bought another UAG product if I didn’t think it would do a good job.

I had the same case for my S7 Edge for a long time, and really like the case – I tested a few ones and it became my favorite. For the S7 Edge, I tried my best to take care of my phone but I think I dropped it at least once or twice and the case did it’s job. I purchased this case for my S9 Plus and so far I am happy, it doesn’t add a bunch of extra bulk and looks good. I like knowing that it is MIL STD 810G 516.6 tested. When other cases make this claim, make sure it mentions 516.6 which is the shock test otherwise they could be referring to another aspect of 810G to be sneaky.

Overall I think you will be happy with this case, and I had no problem with wireless charging on a few chargers I tested.

I am a big fan of the UAG phone cases, I’ve had one for each of my last 4 phones. This one, although not terrible, is my least favorite. Mainly for small things like; it’s transparent which shows all the scratches on the back of the phone case, can see the sticker with my serial #, and the buttons are not raised enough to make finding them easy. I’ll be honest, I was trying to save a few bucks and got this one instead of the more expensive one that I had with my previous phones. Money was tight but I now regret that decision and should’ve paid the twenty dollar difference. It’s not a bad case and it seems to protect the phone well, I just didn’t love it like the others I’ve had.

I’ve had the same model case for my Samsung Note Edge and I loved it. This is no different. It arrived as promised, fits the phone snuggly, and does not interfere with any features such as wireless charging, call quality, buttons, fingerprint sensor, or camera. It is very lightweight and does neither slip out of the hand nor gets stuck inside your pants pocket. I hope I will not have to find out if it protects the phone as advertised but judging from my Note Edge (which did take a lot of beating while inside this case) I should not have to worry.
So if you’re looking for a light case that looks great and fits perfectly, this might be a good option.

This is a great case. UAG is one of the best case makers out there and this sleek, rugged, industrial-looking case is as effective, perhaps more than one of those ugly and oh so bulky Otterbox Defenders. This is a great choice and a must have for any grand new galaxy owner like myself.

Absolutely the best cases I’ve ever used. A lot Slimmer and more form-fitting than OtterBox and other brands and provide the same amount of protection in my opinion. Sure if you end up dropping your phone face down on an uneven surface or a rock nothing’s going to save it but for average everyday drops this case just bounces around like a bouncy ball! As long as they make a UAG case for my phone that’s what I’ll be buying.

This feels like it will protect my phone from a drop onto a flat surface at just about any angle. It works fine with my wireless charger. I don’t really like the fake screws on the back, but that’s just opinion. I think I would go with the Monarch if I had to buy again. The hole for the headphone jack is large enough to allow a Rode mic like the VideoMic Me to attach with no issues.

Great case! UAG is and has been my case of choice. I have used a UAG case on my last 8 devices. I have use the UAG Monarch ever since UAG has released this new line (my last 2 devices). The UAG Monarch for the galaxy S9 plus fits perfectly. This case adds great protection without adding bulk. I love the leather inlays. The volume buttons on the left side are different from the Bixby button right below them. This makes it so you don’t accidentally press the annoying Bixby button.
