Bright orange float ball visually confirms the flow of nitrogen gas
Purge the copper lines at 20+ SCFH and then reduce the flow to Braze at 3-5 SCFH during the brazing process
Protected from over pressure with a reseatable safety blow off that opens at 200 psi
Uniweld’s NV1 NitroVue Nitrogen Flow Indicator is nitrogen purging simplified. The easy to read flow indicator label and the precision adjustable valve give complete control over the low flow of nitrogen gas during the brazing of copper tubing in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration systems. The bright orange float ball visually confirms the flow of nitrogen gas and allows the technician to first “Purge” the copper lines at 20+ SCFH and then reduce the flow to “Braze” at 3-5 SCFH during the brazing process thus conserving its consumption and reducing operating cost. The nitrogen must be flowing to displace the oxygen inside the tubing during the brazing process, preventing internal oxidation and the resulting scale. Scale build up inside the tubing can cause blockage in the TXV and within the Air Conditioning and Refrigeration system resulting in premature failure. If the orange ball does not rise in the tube there is no flow of nitrogen, only static pressure and oxygen is not being displaced. The NV1 must be connected to a Nitrogen Regulator with the delivery pressure set at 60 psi to control the nitrogen gas pressure. The NV1 can be used with complete confidence because it is protected from over pressure with a reseatable safety blow off that opens at 200 psi.
I really like this but there is one short coming. Not all regulators hang at the same access port orientation. On my rig my flow indicator is not vertical, but more like going from 11 o clock to 5 o clock if you drew a line through them on a clock. Still works, but doesn’t hang perfectly. In my case, the pressure regulator (obviously are movable) rotates just so far and hits the tank so it’s not possible to get it straight by moving the regulator. I have leaned the nitrogen tank against the side of a house at an angle, and got the flow indicator vertical that way. It’s a small thing that doesn’t hurt the end result, but a nuisance to me anyway.
Set your regulator to 60 PSI, dial it in and you can purge moisture or just purge for brazing with this! Always hook to high side!
Works very well, takes the guess work out of the flow when brazing a/c lines, which is really a pain when trying to use just the regulator, only issue i had was it has to be removed to pressurize for a leak test,it has a blow of valve on it if you apply to much pressure through it
Great lower cost alternative!!! Works brilliantly and markings make it absolutely fool-proof! Regulation is not as accurate as the more expensive rigs but the amount of nitrogen used is comparable. Some have noted it not fitting, due to clearance to the bottle. Be advised that this rig needs to be mounted in a straight, downward position. My regulator outlet sits approximately 4 1/4â from the center of the bottle and leaves about a 1/4â clearance. Overall, Iâm extremely pleased with it performance and price point.

watch a you tube video on it. saves your gas from wasting, it is tough enough for the tool bag.
CON you have to lean the nitrogen tank sideways on some pressure regulators to keep it vertically plum because itâs not flexible enough to clear the tank, in order to tighten this unit up.

I was hesitating at the beginning as I only needed it for on job. I got it eventually and it was great. Purging and brazing was so much easier.
Easy to install, control and tells you if you still have nitrogen in the pipes.
I tried to feel the breeze with my finger instead but it’s impossible.

The product itself is great. But the reference gauge on the cylinder is a sticker and mine came with the sticker crooked as hell and peeling off. So I doubt it will stay on long. Looks like Iâll have to make my own markings when sticker falls off
This nitrogen flow tool works great. My regulator connection is out at a slight so this thing sits slightly kicked out but still floats the ball no problem. Easy to use although sometimes it takes a minute to float ball just right to braze. This is my go to flow tool for now on, awesome!
